Day 1 : Pick up from Kigali airport to Volcanoes National Park
On the 1st day of the 2 days Mount bisoke hike, a guide will pick you from Kigali airport and transfer you to Kigali genocide memorial for a city tour. While at Kigali genocide memorial, you will be given information about the history of Rwanda including that of the 1994 Rwanda genocide where people lost their lives and therefore this place was set in honor of those who lost lives. After visiting Kigali genocide memorial, you will head to the hotel in Kigali for lunch and then proceed to Rwanda art museum to have a glance at the amazing portraits and paintings that showcase the Rwanda ancient history. A guide will then transfer you to Volcanoes National Park for an overnight stay. You will check into a lodge upon your arrival and you will be served dinner before you retire to bed.

Day 2 : Hike to Mount bisoke and transfer back to Kigali airport
On the 2nd day of the 2 days Mount bisoke hike, you will have breakfast at the lodge and then a guide will transfer you to the park headquarters for briefing before you engage in the hike to Mount bisoke. You will be required to have good hiking boots and well dressed for a hike and you will get the hiking sticks from the park headquarters. The time you will spend while hiking to the summit of Mount bisoke will depend on your fitness level but it takes approximately 4 hours to get to the summit and 2 hours to descend to the starting point and that is 6 hours in total. While hiking mount bisoke, you will see different wildlife species plus the scenic views of the virunga range.
You will be also to see others mountains like Mount Karisimbi and many more. After descending from Mount bisoke to the park headquarters, a guide will lead you to the lodge where you will have lunch and check out. You will then embark on a visit to Musanze caves where you will see the history of Rwanda around these caves through the landmarks that are there.
You also get the opportunity to see a number of bats hanging in these caves and get to know more history about them that is to say it was a crowning ground for the kings of Rwanda in the ancient days. You will after proceed with the guide to the airport for your flight and it’s where you will part ways with the guide.
