Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park and Gorilla Trekking
You will begin the safari with a pickup from a hotel in Kigali very early in the morning at 4 am. You will have a briefing session from the professional driver guide about the safari before you set off to Volcanoes National Park. You will take approximately 2 hours to get to Volcanoes National Park, and upon arrival, you will head to the park headquarters in Kinigi for a briefing. You will meet the park wardens to brief you about the guidelines and safety rules to follow while Rwanda gorilla trekking. After registration, you will be told about the gorilla family you are to search for, and then you will set off with an armed ranger guide.
The gorilla trek will begin at around 8 am, and it will take you about 30 minutes to 7 hours to find the Rwanda gorillas, depending on their location. You will spend one hour with them after finding them. You will observe how they behave, and then the guide will take you to the lodge within the park, where you will have lunch. After having lunch, you will go for a cultural visit to Iby’iwacu Cultural. You will go through the traditions, culture and customs of the Rwandese with the aid of the locals that you will meet there. The guide will then take you back to the lodge for dinner and your night’s rest.

Day 2: Golden Monkey Trekking and Return to Kigali
After having an early morning breakfast at around 6:30 am, you will leave the lodge and head to the park headquarters for a briefing. You will be briefed about golden monkey trekking, and you will be informed on how to behave while conducting this trek. After the briefing, you will set off for the golden monkey trek with the company of an armed ranger guide.
You will take about 30 minutes to 4 hours searching for the golden monkeys. Once you spot them, you will have about 1 hour with them in their habitat. You will watch them eat, play, breastfeed and much more. The guide will drive you back to the lodge after the golden monkey trek experience. You will have lunch at the lodge and then check out. The guide will drive you back to Kigali. If time allows, you will briefly visit the Kimironko market, where you will meet the local vendors who sell a number of items at this local market. You will have glances at them as you purchase the ones of your choice. Items sold at this market include the art pieces, jewellery, handbags, mats, fresh fruits, clothes and many more. The guide will afterwards drop you off at a hotel in Kigali, marking the end of the safari.
