Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up from Kigali airport and transfer to a hotel in Kigali
You will meet up with a guide on the first day of the safari, and you will be transferred from Kigali Airport to Kigali city for a city tour. You will visit the Kigali genocide memorial, where you will get to know about the events of the 1994 Rwanda genocide. You will then head to a hotel for lunch.
After lunch, you will have visit to the Rwanda art museum. You will get to see the various art pieces portraying the culture, history and traditions of Rwanda. You will then get back to the hotel for dinner and your night’s rest.
Day 2: Transfer from a hotel in Kigali to Akagera National Park
At the hotel in Kigali, you will have breakfast and then check out. The guide will transfer you to Akagera National Park. At Akagera National Park, you will have lunch once you check into the hotel and in the evening, you will have dinner and your night’s rest.

Day 3: Morning game drive and a boat cruise at Lake Ihema
You will have breakfast on day 3 and then have a morning game drive in Akagera National Park. You will spot animals rising from their habitats in the morning, like the lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, buffaloes and many more. You will also spot several bird species. The guide will drive you back to the lodge. You will have lunch and then go for a boat cruise.
The boat cruise will take place at Lake Ihema. The boat cruise will reward you with a sight of wildlife like hippos, crocodiles and various bird species. You will then be driven back to the lodge, you will relax, refresh and then have dinner. You will then go to bed for your night’s rest.
Day 4: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park
You will have breakfast on day 4 and then the guide will transfer you to Nyungwe National Park, where you will have lunch, dinner and your night stay.

Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking and a canopy walk
On day 5, you will have a chimpanzee trek in Nyungwe forest with the company of an armed ranger guide who will direct you in the forest. You will spend 1 hour with the chimpanzees and then go back to the lodge for lunch.
You will go for a canopy walk after lunch. You will explore the beauty of Nyungwe National Park while at the suspended bridge for approximately 2 hours. You will have dinner and then retire to bed.
Day 6: Transfer to Lake Kivu for an afternoon boat cruise
On day 6, you will have breakfast, and then the guide will transfer you to Lake Kivu, and you will check into a lodge. You will have lunch at the lodge, and then you will go for an afternoon boat cruise. You will visit some of the islands at Lake Kivu while on the boat cruise, and then you will return to the lodge for dinner and your night’s stay.

Day 7: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
On day 7, you will be transferred to Volcanoes National Park after breakfast. You will check into a lodge at Volcanoes, have lunch and relax. In the evening, you will have dinner and then retire to bed.

Day 8: Gorilla trekking and hike to Dian Fossey Tomb
On day 8, you will have breakfast, and then you will go for a briefing. After the briefing, you will go for gorilla trekking. The gorilla trek will be done with an armed ranger guide, and you will meet a habituated gorilla family for only one hour. You will then go back to the lodge for lunch.
When you are done with lunch, you will go for a hike to Dian Fossey’s Tomb. You will see the Tomb of Dian Fossey and also the graves of other gorillas, like that of Digit, the most beloved gorilla of Dian Fossey. You will get back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 9: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
On day 9, you will have breakfast and then be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Cyanika border. You will arrive at a lunch meal at the lodge that you will check into at Bwindi, and then you will rest at the lodge. You will have dinner in the evening, and then you will retire to bed.

Day 10: Gorilla trekking and Batwa cultural experience

You will meet the Batwa people and learn about their culture, traditions and history. You will return to the lodge for dinner and your night’s rest.
Day 11: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
On day 11, you will have breakfast and then be transferred to Queen Elizabeth National Park, and you will check into a lodge. You will have lunch, dinner and your night’s rest.

Day 12: Morning game drive and a boat cruise
On day 12, you will have a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park in the Ishasha sector. You will spot animals like lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes and many more. You will go back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch and you will have an afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. You will spot several aquatic animals and birds. You will then get back to the lodge for dinner and your night’s rest.

Day 13: Transfer to Kibale National Park for a Bigodi swamp walk
After breakfast, you will have breakfast and then be transferred to Kibale National Park. You will check into a lodge, have lunch and head for a Bigodi swamp walk.
After the Bigodi swamp walk, you will head back to the lodge for dinner and your night’s rest

Day 14: Chimpanzee trekking and transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the park headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will start chimpanzee trekking. You will spend 30 minutes to 4 hours searching for the chimpanzees. You spend 1 hour with the chimpanzees after spotting them. You will then go back to the lodge and have lunch.
You will check out of the lodge, and then the guide will transfer you to Murchison Falls National Park. You will arrive in the evening, check into a lodge, have dinner and retire to bed.

Day 15: Morning game drive and an afternoon boat cruise
After breakfast, you will have a morning game drive that will take about 4 hours. You will spot birds, animals and other attractions in Murchison Falls National Park. You will be driven back to the lodge for relaxation and lunch.
In the afternoon, you will have a boat cruise at the bottom of the falls. You will spot aquatic animals like crocodiles and hippos. You will be taken back to the lodge for dinner and your night’s rest.
Day 16: Depart for Entebbe Airport
After breakfast on the last day of the safari, you will depart for Entebbe Airport with a stopover in Masindi for lunch.
