Day 1: Flight to the Volcanoes National Park
Your safari begins with a warm welcome in Kigali and a transfer to the domestic terminal at Kigali International Airport. After a short briefing, you board a scheduled helicopter flight to Musanze. The flight takes approximately 30 to 40 minutes. Upon landing at Musanze airstrip, your company representative driver guide will transfer you to your lodge near Volcanoes National Park. After checking in, you will enjoy lunch.
In the afternoon, you will visit Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village, where local community members share traditional Rwandan dance, history and conservation stories. After the cultural experience, you will get back to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking
After an early breakfast, your guide will transfer you to Kinigi Park Headquarters. Upon arrival at Kinigi headquarters, you will meet with the park wardens who will brief you about gorilla trekking, how to behave, and what to expect. You will be assigned to one of the habituated gorilla families. Groups are allocated based on fitness levels, ensuring a comfortable trekking experience. The trek can last about 1 to 7 hours, depending on the gorillas’ location. You will hike through bamboo forests and dense rainforest with the company of armed ranger guides. Along the way, you may spot golden monkeys, colourful birds, and many more.
After spotting the Rwanda gorillas for one hour, you will observe them as they feed, associate, groom and much more. After your hour with the gorillas, you will trek back to the starting point and return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation. The rest of the day will be spent at the lodge, and in the evening you will have dinner and retire to bed.

Day 3: Mount Bisoke Hike and Flight Back to Kigali
After an early morning breakfast at the lodge, your guide transfers you to the park headquarters for registration and briefing. After the briefing session and getting the hiking gear, you will start the hike to Mount Bisoke. The hike takes 5 to 7 hours round-trip, depending on pace and weather conditions. As you climb higher, mist drifts across the mountainside, adding a mystical atmosphere. Reaching the summit is incredibly rewarding.
After descending for approximately 2 to 3 hours, you transfer to Musanze airstrip for your return helicopter flight to Kigali of about 30 to 40 minutes. Upon arrival, you may be transferred directly to Kigali International Airport for your onwards departure or to a hotel of your choice in Kigali.
