Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer To Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
On arrival, the safari guide will meet you and brief you about the safari. After the briefing, you will embark on the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with lunch en route. On arrival, you will check into your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking
Early in the morning, after breakfast, you will head to the park’s headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will enter the forest in search of the mountain gorillas. The trek takes 30 minutes to 7 hours. And once the Uganda gorillas are located, you will spend an hour with them as you watch them carry out their day-to-day activities while you take photos and record moments.
After the trek, you will head to the park headquarters, where you will be awarded a certificate. After that, you will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay
Day 3: Transfer To Volcanoes National Park
After having morning breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to the Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda via the Cyanika border with lunch en route. On arrival in Rwanda, you will visit the twin lakes of Berea and Ruhondo, and then later in the evening, you will check into your lodge for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Golden Monkey Trekking
After an early morning breakfast, you will head to the park’s headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will head into the forest in search of the golden monkeys, which takes 1 to 4 hours, depending on the location of the monkeys. Once they are located, you will spend an hour with them as you take photos and record moments. After the trek, you will return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will then head to the Ibyi’wachu cultural village. While on the visit, you will explore more about the Rwandan culture and so much more. After the visit, you will return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 5: Transfer To Nyungwe National Park
After enjoying your morning breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and embark on a 4- to 5-hour drive to Nyungwe National Park, which is the oldest rainforest and home to 13 primate species.
Day 6: Chimpanzee Trekking And Canopy Walk
After morning breakfast, you will head to the park’s headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will head into the forest in search of the habituated chimpanzees, which takes 30 minutes to 4 hours. Once they are located, you will spend an hour with them as you learn more about the primates and take photos, as well as record moments. After the chimpanzee trek, you will return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will go for a walk on a trail that will take you to the Nyungwe canopy walk, a swing bridge of 50 metres in length, which is suspended from a large tree. While on the walk, you will be able to see the amazing rainforest with a bird’s eye view as you spot wildlife moving below. After the walk, you will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 7: Transfer To Kigali
In the morning, after enjoying breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and embark on a journey to Kigali. On arrival, you will have a city tour where you will visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial and the Kimironko Market, among others.
After the visit, you will have lunch and be dropped off at the Kigali International Airport for your flight back home or any other place as advised.
