Detailed itinerary
Day 1 : Pick up from Kigali airport and transfer to Volcanoes National Park
You will be transferred by the guide by the guide from the airport to Kigali for a city tour to places like Kimironko market, inema arts center and Kigali genocide memorial. After the visit to these places, you will have gathered various information about the culture, traditions and history of Rwanda. You will then be taken to the restaurant in Kigali for lunch and after you will head to Volcanoes National Park and you will spend a night there including dinner before you get to bed.

Day 2 : Gorilla trekking and visit to Dian Fossey Tomb
On the second day of the trip while at Volcanoes national park, you will have breakfast and a guide will meet you at the lodge and take you for briefing at the park headquarters and you will proceed to the trek to find the gorillas. You will trek for about 5 hours while having various encounters with other wildlife species. Once you spot the gorillas, you will spend an hour with them and then you head back to the lodge after capturing memories of them and seeking information about them from the guide. You will have lunch at the lodge and then head to the park headquarters for briefing about a hike to Dian Fossey Tomb.
You will get hiking sticks from the headquarters and then proceed with the hike with the ranger guide. You will be able to see the tomb of Dian Fossey and other gorillas that were buried near her tomb. You will acquire more knowledge about gorillas at this place and then the guide will transfer you back to the lodge for supper and you retire to bed.
Day 3 : Transfer to Nyungwe National Park for a canopy walk
While you are still at volcanoes national park, you will wake up to an early morning breakfast and you will meet with the guide after the breakfast. You will check out of the lodge and you will leave Volcanoes National with a stopover for lunch at a hotel before you reach Nyungwe National Park.
At Nyungwe National Park, you will start with briefing once you arrive and you will get a lodge and place your luggage there. After, you will proceed with the ranger guide for a canopy walk of about 2 hours at the 70m high and 160m long suspended bridge. You will have a number of views of the ecosystems at Nyungwe National Park while at the bridge and a guide will then transfer you to the lodge6for some rest. You will have dinner on the evening and then later retire to bed.

Day 4 : Chimpanzee trekking and transfer to lake kivu
On day 4, you will have breakfast and you get transferred from the lodge to the park headquarters for briefing. You will be briefed by the park wardens and you will embark on a chimpanzee trek with a ranger guide in Nyungwe forest. You will be with the chimpanzees for an hours after your search of about 5 hours. You will capture moments with the chimpanzees and then a guide will take you through details about them and you will then head back to the lodge fir lunch.
After lunch, you will be transferred to lake kivu and you will spend the night in one of the hotels there. You will also have your dinner from there before you retire to bed.

Day 5 : Coffee tour
On day 5, you will have breakfast at the hotel in kivu and you will go for briefing from the guides. After the briefing, you will set off with a guide from Gisenyi to Nyamirundi Island where you will conduct a coffee tour. At this island, you will be taken there by boat and you will meet and greet the locals at the islands. They will teach you the coffee making process which includes coffee roasting and many more. At the end of the session, you will have learnt how coffee is made and also the locals will tell you about their culture and traditions. A guide will then transfer you back to the starting point and you will get back to the hotel for lunch. After lunch, you will have an interaction with the guide and then you head to the lodge and rest. After your rest, you will freshen up, have dinner and retire to bed.
Day 6 : Boat cruise and transfer to Kigali airport
On the last day of the trip, you we will conduct a boat cruise that is approximately 2 hours at lake kivu. You will begin with breakfast and head for briefing at the headquarters and then you set off with the guide for the boat cruise. You will spot number of islands on this lake and various wildlife species which will reward you with a variety of experiences and memories. You will then return with the guide to the lodge and you gave lunch. After lunch, you will check out of the lodge and set off with the guide back to the airport for your flight.
