Detailed itinerary for the 4 days double gorilla trekking in Uganda and Rwanda
Day 1: Pick up from Entebbe Airport and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
On the first day of your safari, a friendly driver-guide will meet you at Entebbe International Airport and brief you on your delightful adventure. Then, you will start your picturesque drive to the southwest along the way to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home of the world-famous mountain gorilla safaris. You will enjoy a memorable stopover at Kayabwe, the Uganda Equator Monument, where you have the option of taking some lovely photos, performing the water experiment, and shopping for local crafts. While on your adventure, you will also stop at Mpambire Drum Makers Village for a cultural tour, learning about traditional drum making from generations before.
Afterwards, you will continue onward to Igongo Cultural Centre in Mbarara for a tasty lunch and a brief Uganda tour, learning about the Ankole ethnicity. You will then continue your journey onward through the rolling hills and terraced landscapes of the picturesque southwestern Uganda and arrive at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in the evening. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and enjoy a hearty dinner as you are prepared for your exciting adventure of gorilla trekking in the misty jungle paradise of Uganda the next day.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking and transfer to Volcanoes National Park
On the second day of the safari, you will have an early morning breakfast, and then you will be given a packed lunch. The guide will transfer you from the lodge to the park headquarters. You will be briefed at the park headquarters by the park guides about gorilla trekking safaris while on a Rwanda safari. You will be given an armed ranger guide to go with you for the gorilla trek, and then you will start the trek. You will take approximately 30 minutes to 7 hours searching for the Rwanda gorilla, depending on their location in the forest. After locating them, you will spend 1 hour with the gorillas in their natural habitat. You will observe the way they behave in terms of feeding, playing, among others. The guide will then transfer you back to the lodge.
You will check out of the lodge, and the guide will drive you to Volcanoes National Park. You will cross via the Cyanika border, and you will arrive in the evening. You will then check into a lodge, have dinner, and retire to bed.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking and visit to Iby’iwacu cultural village
On the third day of the safari, you will be served breakfast, and after having breakfast, you will have a transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing. You will be briefed about the second gorilla trek, and you will be allocated another gorilla family to meet. You will then head for the Rwanda gorilla trek with an armed ranger guide. You will have one hour with the gorillas in their natural habitat after spotting them. You will spend some time searching for the Rwanda gorilla families, which will be approximately 30 minutes to 7 hours. You will monitor the behaviour of the gorillas, and after you will take pictures of the gorillas. You will return to the lodge, and you will have lunch
You will have a visit to Iby’iwacu cultural village, and you will be able to have a cultural experience about the culture and traditions of Rwanda. You will learn how the Rwandese prepare their local dishes and many more. You will then get back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Hike to Mount Bisoke and depart to Kigali Airport
On the last day of the safari, you will have breakfast, and then the guide will take you for a briefing. You will then go for a hike to Mount Bisoke, which takes about 6 hours to ascend and descend. It takes about 4 hours to ascend and 2 hours to descend. You will have views of birds, primates as you ascend to get to the summit. You will then have views of other neighbouring volcanic mountains while at the summit. You will then descend to the starting point, and you will be transferred to the lodge for lunch.
After having lunch, you will check out of the lodge, and the guide will drive you to Kigali Airport, where you will catch your flight.
