Detailed itinerary
Day 1 : City tour and transfer to Volcanoes National Park
At the hotel in Kigali, a guide will meet you there and you will interact fir a while and then get to start your city tour. You will begin with a visit to Kimironko market, at Kimironko market, you will meet the locals that operate there and will show you a number of items they sell like the clothes, art pieces, handbags, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, fresh fruits and food. Some of the commodities sold at this market portray the culture and traditions of Rwanda. You will also get some awareness about the Rwandese culture and traditions from the locals you will see at Kimironko market.
After the visit, you will head for another tour to Kigali genocide memorial. At this place, you will go through the events of the 1994 Rwanda genocide with the help of the guide. You will also have a glance at the remains of the participants in the 1994 Rwanda genocide. This visit will give you awareness about what happened in Rwanda in the 1994 and then a guide will transfer you to a hotel where you will have lunch.
After winding up with lunch at the hotel in Kigali, you will then head to Volcanoes National Park. The distance from Kigali to Volcanoes national park is approximately 2 hours and when you get there, you will check into a lodge and you relax as you wait for the next program. You will then head to the dinner area later on and you will retire to your bed for your night rest after eating.

Day 2 : Golden monkey trek and transfer to Nyungwe National Park
You will wake up as early as possible and have your breakfast at the lodge. Then after the guide will link up with you at the lodge and you head with him to the park headquarters. At the park headquarters, you will be briefed on how to go about a golden monkey trek. After receiving the guidelines. You will be given a ranger guide to lead you to where this activity will be done. You will come across a number of wildlife in your way to find the golden monkeys and you will spend a number of hours trying to get to them. With the help of the broken tree branches that fall from the trees as the monkeys are swinging on them, you will be able to trace where they are. You will gave only an hour with the golden monkeys after spotting where they are and you will receive all you require about them from the guide. You will also carry out your observations and get to know more about them as you also take some videos and photos for memories. The guide will then transfer you back to the lodge.
Before checking out of the lodge, you will first have lunch. After winding up with your lunch meal, you will meet up with the guide after you are done checking out of the lodge at volcanoes national park. The guide will then transfer you to Nyungwe National Park. You will get a room where to stay when you arrive and you will settle in. You will freshen up and then head for dinner. After the dinner meal, you will retire to bed for your night rest.

Day 3 : Chimpanzee trekking
While at Nyungwe national park, you will have breakfast as early as 5am and after the breakfast, a guide will pick you from the lodge and take you to the park headquarters for briefing by the park wardens. After briefing on what you require during a chimpanzee trek and what you are supposed to do and not do, you will head with a ranger guide to the forest for a chimpanzee trek. While conducting the chimpanzee trek, you will cone across several plant species and tree species where some of thee wildlife in the this park reside.
You will also see various mammals and bird species. It will take you about 5 hours to spot the chimpanzees depending on their location or even more. You will then spend some time with them once you spot them and that is approximately 1 hour.
The guide will grant you the chance to take pictures of the chimpanzees and to also make your inquiries about them. He will give you guidance on how to behave and he will also educate you about the chimpanzees. You will then retire to the lodge after the encounter with the chimpanzees. You will have lunch at the lodge and then you spend the remaining time of the say resting.
In the evening, you be given dinner and then you will retire to bed for a night rest.

Day 4 : Canopy walk and transfer to a hotel in Kigali
After having breakfast in the morning at 8am. You will get transferred to the park headquarters by a guide who will pick you from the lodge and you will be briefed. You will then go with a guide for a canopy walk after giving you the guidelines to follow as you carry out this activity.
You will spend about 2 hours conducting the canopy walk on the 70m high and 160m long suspended bridge. You will then get amazing views of the forest from the bridge top and various ecosystems. The guide will then transfer you back to the lodge.
At the lodge, you will eat lunch and you then check out. You will be picked from the lodge by the guide and he transfers you to a hotel in Kigali. On your way to the hotel, you will first visit musanze caves and you tour around them for about 2 hours with the guide. This will grant you the opportunity to see the bats that reside in these caves plus other historical sites. You will then be taken to the hotel after the visit.
