This is a 1 day safari to Volcanoes National Park that will begin and end at Kigali Airport. You will arrive at Kigali Airport and head to Volcanoes National Park, which is home to the mountain gorillas in Rwanda. You will have a gorilla trek in Volcanoes National Park, and then you will go for a visit to Iby’iwacu cultural village for a cultural experience about the Rwandese culture.
Detailed Itinerary
Upon arrival at Kigali Airport, our guide from Chopper Tour and travel will pick you up from the Airport, but before you set off, you will first be briefed about the 1 day Volcanoes National Park safari. You will start the drive to Volcanoes National Park, which will take approximately 2 hours. You will arrive at the Park and head to the park headquarters for a briefing. You will be briefed about gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park while on a Rwanda safari, and you will be told about the gorilla family that you will search for. You will then be given an armed ranger guide to go with you for the gorilla trek. You will then begin by trekking to the forest to find the gorillas.
According to their location in the forest, you will take approximately 30 minutes to 7 hours to spot them. You will spend with the gorillas 1 hour after spotting them. You will be allowed to capture pictures of the gorillas under specific guidelines, and then you will go ahead to observe their behaviours, for example, how they feed and play among others. You will then retire to the park headquarters, where you will be provided lunch.
After lunch, you will go for a visit to Iby’iwacu cultural village for a cultural experience. You will have a conversation with the Rwandese locals that you will meet there. They will teach you how their local dishes are made, and you will also visit their community projects. You will see how they perform their cultural dance when they are entertaining you. You will then leave Iby’iwacu cultural village, and you will be dropped off at the Airport for a flight back to your destination that you came from.
