Detailed itinerary for the 6 days gorilla safaris in Uganda and Rwanda
Day 1: Transfer from Kigali Airport to Volcanoes National Park
On day 1 of the safari, our representative guide from Chopper Tour and Travel will pick you up from Kigali Airport, and you will go for a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial to learn about the events of the 1994 Rwanda genocide. You will then head to a hotel for lunch. After lunch, you will head to Volcanoes National Park, where you will have dinner and spend the night at the booked hotel that you will check into.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking and visit to Iby’iwacu cultural village
Breakfast will be served to you in the morning at the lodge, and then you will proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing. You will then set off with an armed ranger guide to the forest to go for the Rwanda gorilla trekking. You will come across several birds and animal species. You will have one hour with the Rwanda gorillas after spotting them. You will take pictures of the gorillas as you observe them. You will observe them carrying out their daily activities, such as feeding, playing, and breastfeeding, among others. You will be taken back to the lodge for lunch.
In the cooler hours of the afternoon, you will visit Iby’iwacu Cultural Village for a Rwandan cultural experience. You will meet the locals who will teach you about their culture and traditions. You will then head back to the lodge in the evening, have dinner and retire to bed.
Day 3: Golden monkey trekking
Breakfast will be served in the morning at the lodge, and then you will leave the lodge and head to the park headquarters for a briefing. You will then go for the Rwanda golden monkey trek after the briefing. You will search for the golden monkeys in the forest for about 2 to 4 hours. You will have one hour with them once you spot them. You will observe them play, feed, breastfeed and much more. You will also capture pictures of them, and then you head back to the lodge for lunch, dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Breakfast will be served at the lodge, and then the guide will transfer you from the lodge after checking out. You will head to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will have an en route lunch on your way. You will pass through the Cyanika border to get to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will arrive and check into a lodge. You will relax, have dinner and retire to bed.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking
Breakfast will be served as early as 5:30 am, and then you will leave the lodge with lunch packed. You will then go to the park headquarters for a briefing. You will get the guidelines to follow while Uganda gorilla trekking. You will then set off with an armed ranger guide.
You will have about 30 minutes to 7 hours to search for the Uganda gorillas, and this depends on their location. You will spend one hour with them as you observe how they behave. You will take pictures of them and then head back to the lodge. You will have dinner at the lodge in the evening, and then you will retire to bed.
Day 6: Transfer back to Kigali Airport
Breakfast will be served early in the morning at the lodge. You will take it and then leave the lodge. The driver guide will link up with you, and then you will be transferred back to Kigali Airport in Kigali City.
