Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Meet In Kigali And Connect To Congo

Depending on your location, the safari guide will pick you up and brief you about the safari. After the briefing, you will embark on the journey to Goma in Congo. The drive takes 5 hours from Kigali to reach the Goma border. After that, you will check in with the office and get the gorilla permits for the next day. After, you will head into the lodge for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking In Virunga National Park

After an early morning breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will enter the forest in search of the mountain gorillas. The trek takes 30 minutes to 7 hours, and once the gorillas are located, you will spend an hour with the mountain gorillas as you watch their behaviours, as well as take photos and record moments. After the trek, you will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Exit Dr. Congo Back Into Rwanda

After having breakfast, you will be transferred to the Grande Barrière border, check out and renew your Rwanda visa. You will connect with the Rwandan driver-guide for a brief stopover at Lake Kivu for lunch. After lunch, you will connect to Ruhengeri-Volcanoes National Park, where you will check into your lodge for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Golden Monkey Trek In Volcanoes National Park

After an early morning breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will enter the forest in search of the primates. The golden monkey trek can take 30 minutes to 7 hours, and once they are located, you will spend an hour with them as you watch their day-to-day activities. After the trek, you will return to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Transfer Back To Kigali

After having a leisurely breakfast, you will check out of your lodge and embark on the journey back to Kigali. In case time allows, you can have a city tour of Kigali city, and after, you will be dropped off at Kigali International Airport for your flight back home or any other place of your choice.
