Detailed itinerary
Day 1 : pick up from kigali airport and transfer to volcanoes national park
Kigali airport will be the pick up point by the guide and he will have a brief talk with you before you start your 5 days rwanda and congo gorilla trekking safari. He will transfer you to kandt house museum and you tour around it and a guide will take you through the details in this museum and after the guide will transfer you to a hotel in kigali for lunch.
After lunch, you will embark on tour journey to volcanoes national park as per the itinerary and once you arrive there, you will get a lodge in volcanoes where you will go and freshen up and spend your night. After relaxing, you will have dinner and then you set off to bed as you wait for tge next day.

Day 2 : gorilla trekking and hike to mount bisoke
You will have breakfast on day 2 at the lodge and after you will head to the park headquarters for briefing and then a guide will lead you for a gorilla trek. You will take for several hours in search of the gorillas and after you meet a gorilla family, you will spend one hour with them and you will get more awareness about how these gorillas behave. You are supposed to meet each gorilla family in groups of only 8 people. A guide will tell you more information concerning the gorillas and after you have exhausted everything, you will trek back to the lodge after the experience. Once you get to the lodge, you will have lunch and after have some rest.
After some relaxation, you will head to the park headquarters for briefing and then you set off for a hike to mount bisoke. This hikes takes an average of 6 hours to and from. The 4 hours are for ascending to the summit and the 2 hours are for descending. You will have good sights of the surroundings while at mount bisoke and while at this mountain, you will have a chance to see some of the neighboring volcanic mountains and after this hike, you will head back to the lodge and have dinner before you retire to bed.
Day 3 : golden monkey trekking and transfer to bukavu
On day 3, you will have breakfast and then a guide will transfer you to the park headquarters where you will set off from for a golden monkey trek after being briefed by the park wardens. The ranger guide will help him in search of the golden monkeys following some traces in the forest like the broken tree branches then leave along the trails while swinging on the tree branches. Once you spot them, you have ab hour with them to share moments and after you will take pictures of them plus some explanation about them from the guide. After this, you will head back to your lodge with the escort of a guide. You will be served lunch at the lodge and after the lunch meal, you will check out of the lodge.
A guide will then link up with you and transfer you to bukavu in congo. You will pass through the cyangugu boarder to get to congo and once you arrive there, you will have to get a hotel where you will have your dinner and spend the night.

Day 4 : low land gorilla trekking
On day 4, you will have breakfast at the lodge and a guide will transfer you to kahuzi biega national park where you will have briefing at the park headquarters before you set off fir a lowland gorilla trekking activity. Kahuzi biega national park is a home to the eastern lowland gorillas therefore making it one of the best spots to carry out gorilla trekking in congo. You will be accompanied by a ranger guide to carry out the lowland gorilla trek. As you trek to find the lowland gorillas, you will also get the opportunity to spot other primates and other wildlife species. This trek may take some several hours of about 4 hours and you will spend 1 hours with a habituated gorilla family once you spot it. In the one hour, you will have the opportunity to take pictures of them and then after a guide will drive you back to the lodge after carrying out this activity.
When you get to the lodge, you will be given meal which is lunch and after you will have a community visit which is optional. You will either decide to rest or head for a community visit. While at the community, you will get to learn a lot from the locals that reside in the community. After that, a guide will drive you back to the lodge. You will freshen up, relax and wait for dinner. Once your done eating, you will retire to bed.
Day 5 : depart to kigali airport
On day 5, you have breakfast at lodge at 8am in the morning and then check out of the lodge. You will then connect with the guide who will transfer you back to kigali. You pass via the cyangugu boarder to connect back to rwanda. On your way back to kigali airport, you will have a visit to musanze caves in musanze town. You will have to see various historical features at this place about rwanda. You will also see the bats that reside and these caves that were once homes to the refugees after the genocide and they were also used as a crowning place for the kings of rwanda. You will then have an enroute lunch at kigali after the visit to musanze caves and after lunch, a guide will then drop you off at the airport.
