Our 3 Days Uganda Gorilla and Hiking Safari leads you to a unique safari destination where tourists can trek both endangered gorillas and endemic golden monkeys, as well as allow visitors to engage in hiking adventures in one of the three Virunga volcanoes: Mt Muhabura, Mt Gahinga, and Mt Sabyinyo. The trip starts and ends in Kigali, Rwanda.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Own transfer to Kisoro – Meet guide at the booked hotel
Depart from Kigali on your own. Upon arrival in Kisoro, you will connect to your booked lodge. Later, you will meet up with our company representative driver-guide, who will guide you through the hiking and guiding experience. Have dinner and an overnight stay at Lake Mulehe Lodge – mid-range.
Meals: Lunch and dinner
Day 2: Hike Mount Sabinyo
After a delicious breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel by your driver-guide with a packed lunchbox and enough mineral water bottles to keep you hydrated throughout the hike. Also, remember to wear appropriate hiking shoes, sunglasses, and long-sleeved but light attire, among others.
After the briefing, you will start the hiking adventure. The hike to the summit can take 8 hours, depending on the climatic conditions and other factors. Its summit reaches an elevation of about 3,645 metres above sea level. As soon as you get to the summit, expect to have a panoramic view of a caldera and the neighbouring volcanoes within the park; spend some time there. After, drive back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge as above.
Day 3: Gorilla trekking/Depart back to Kigali
After having a heavy breakfast at your lodge, report back to the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking. After the briefing, you will walk through the jungle in search of the mountain gorillas, which takes about 30 minutes to 7 hours, depending on their location. Once you allocate them, you will be allowed one hour to observe their habits and behaviours, take photos and record videos. After, you will hike back to the park headquarters, where you will be rewarded with a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking. End of the 3 Days Uganda gorilla and hiking safari.
