Susa Gorilla family : The susa family is a group of mountain gorillas in volcanoes national park, Rwanda that can be part of a gorilla safaris. The susa family is located in volcanoes national park,which is in the northwest of Rwanda.The susa family is considered one of the most difficukt gorilla family to trek because they often move to higher elevations.

The susa family was discovered in 1978 by primatologist Dian fossey. The family was once the largest in the park,with 41 members, but split into two groups in 2009. The original susa group now has 15 members, including 3 silverbacks, 3 aduslt females, 2blackbacks,1 sub-adult female, 1 sub-adult male, and 2 juveniles and 3 infants.

Mountain gorillas are endangered wild animals and one of the largest primates, whom we and share human DNA of 98% and they live in tropical rain forest and Virunga mountains. Best time to trek the Susa mountain gorilla family

The Susa mountain family can be tracked anytime of the year including weekends and public holidays. All you have to do is book your permit in advance at least 30 days before your arrival. This helps you dodge the last-minute inconvenience that may come with late booking.

The dry months of June to September and December to February are usually the best time to trek the Susa mountain gorilla family. This is the time when trekking trails are not slippery and the activity is less challenging.
