Our 2 days gorilla trekking safari from Kigali is the ultimate gorilla trekking adventure; it starts from Kigali, Rwanda, through the border crossing to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda via the Chanika border. The journey takes about a 3-to-4-hour drive to access the final destination. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park on a Uganda safari is a UNESCO World Heritage site, located in the southwestern Uganda region and home to protecting nearly half of the world’s remaining endangered mountain gorillas, among others. This trip starts and ends in Kigali, Rwanda.

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Depending on your agreed location in Kigali, you will be welcomed by our safari driver-guide, who will brief you about the safari. Then, set off on the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. On the way, expect to enjoy great views of rolling hills in Rwanda, terraced farmlands, among others. Arrive at the park and check into the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge – midrange.

Day 2:  Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Wake up early, have breakfast, and carry packed lunch boxes from the lodge. Thereafter, you will be driven to the park headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will start trekking in the jungle in search of the gorilla family, which takes 2 – 6 hours, depending on where the gorillas are located. Once you find them, you will be given one hour to spend with them in their natural environment, observing their behaviours and habits and taking memorable photographs.

After participating in gorilla trekking, drive out of the park and transfer back to Kigali. Upon arrival after the Rwanda safari, you will be dropped off at Kigali International Airport for your departure flight or at any place of your choice.
